Elrond is ancient even amongst the long lived Elves, having fought against Sauron at an earlier time and had seen the Ring taken by Isildur before it was disappeared. He is the lord of Rivendell and the wisest of all living in Middle-earth.
Gil-Galad was the mightiest warrior of his age and chief of the Elves in the Last Alliance against Sauron. He died in the battle but because of his sacrifice, Sauron was defeated, though sadly not destroyed. |
